Our
Community

The mission of Sing Sing Kill Brewery is to be a catalyst for Ossining’s local economy, and provide a gathering space that is welcoming to all members of our diverse community.

SSKB is a
leader in our
local business
community.

Our brewery and taproom occupy a storefront that had been vacant for over a decade. We have re-invigorated the local economy with light manufacturing in our downtown. The collaborative spirit in the craft brewing industry has been a model for how we work with partners in our own village. SSKB was instrumental in launching the Ossining Business Alliance, a group of small businesses dedicated to sustaining a thriving local economy by cultivating a supportive network that provides a forum for open communication and formalized collaboration.

We are focused on creating a taproom environment where all people feel welcome. SSKB works closely with the Ossining LGBTQ Alliance to coordinate queer events in the taproom, like drag shows and queer country music night. We partnered with local activists to host UNIDOS: A Hispanic Heritage Month Fundraiser to benefit families separated at the border. On Sunday mornings when we push the tables aside for African Dance Class, live drummers accompany a local teacher with a loyal following of students.

Our community connections go beyond the taproom to encourage safe and enriching opportunities for young people. We support Ossining MATTERS (OM), our local education foundation, by sponsoring members of the SSKB Run Club to compete in an annual 5K and have contributed to other OM fundraisers as well. One of our biggest taproom events was a chili cook-off benefiting a local youth sports team where the players were guest food servers. And we regularly host classes that support Crossover Yoga Project’s mission to empower vulnerable teen girls through trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness and art.

As a live music venue, our focus is on local, original musicians. We host, and have been co-creators of art exhibitions. Our programming of art workshops and exercise classes encourages the success of local entrepreneurs. Our partnership with progressive local candidates promotes voter registration and awareness. Fundraisers, club meetings, foodie affairs, holiday events, arts & crafts workshops, and storytelling are further examples of how we utilize the taproom to strengthen community connections.

Donation Requests

Sing Sing Kill Brewery loves supporting the community through charitable donations. Though we’d like to accommodate every request we receive, we must practice a certain level of selectivity based on the amount of requests that come our way. That said, we prioritize hyper-local organizations, environmental & sustainability efforts, and other causes in line with our core values & philosophy. To be considered, donations requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of an event. All donations must be picked up in the taproom during our regular business hours.

We look forward to receiving your request!
